Welcome ProBlogger Readers

Since Darren was kind enough to link to my blog videos and to my blog I thought I’d put up a quick post to introduce myself and give you a little tour of my home here on Art of Money.

First thing you could do is read my About page for some of my background and to see what I look like wearing my favorite t-shirt.

A computer programmer by trade I started my blogging adventure about 2 years ago by writing my own blogging software. Fortunately I came to my senses and realized that spending 75% of my time writing code and 25% writing articles was never going to get me anywhere and I had the sense to abandon that site [it stills pays for my Starbucks habit though] and move to WordPress.

I started this site and a string of niche blogs where I configured WordPress more as a traditional site and targeted specific topics using affiliate marketing and AdSense.

Recently, I began questioning AdSense as the best thing to build my business on and have gotten into creating my own Info Products. Here’s a blooper from the blog videos that I like.

I find that I’m using video more and more on this site so I hope you’ll look around.

Also, if you sign up for my newsletter [see the big box on the top right], I write more about the behind the scenes issues facing my business and you’ll get chances to get my new products at special “pre-launch” pricing.

I also want to mention that I love comments or feedback, so tell me what you think about my site, Darren’s write up or info products in general.

Jon

It’s a great idea Jon! Did you get Bio and Snowbank set up?

Great site, site idea and smart reading! I’ve had WP for 2 years and own to say that WP is a great tool. But I went further and recently started Blogger. I mean I don’t think of hosting, nor of megatopdesign (well, at start, a litle bit) – just of ideas to write down. I suspect socialisation which goes together with WEB2.0 will bring such free platforms (as a Blooger) to wide mass. Good Art Without Money!

I jut replied to another girl’s post over there. People are ridiculous- if you provide a service and create value, you should charge for what you have. And you do. That’s business! lol Rock on!

Jon,

I have been following what you (and prlinkbiz) have been doing for quite some time (starting with your old blog) from the RDPD forums… and I figured it was time to stop being a lurker.

Honestly I think the feeback from your blog product falls in line with what RD says about people trying to disuade you from taking risks. If you listen to these negative people it’s only going to slow your progress and prevent you from being successful.

Good call J. Who is this mystery lurker-no-longer, J? lol
Some people also cannot get it through their heads that you don’t have to be unethical to make money. Period. You provide what people need or want and it’s almost as simple as that. So what’s new J?

Hi there.

Some really helpful information here. I’m sorry for beeing a little off-topic, but I want to ask you about the design of this site. Did you make this template yourself or did you get it from any templates website? Looks pretty cool for me. I use Joomla, but wants something better.

Hi Peter, it is a custom theme that I commissioned. You can read about it here.
