The Law of Attraction - Three Resources
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.
I recently discovered that there was a free version of The Secret available on You Tube [see below] so I thought I’d do a round up of some resources for the law of attraction.
In short the Law of Attraction is:
The Law of Attraction is an idea that is widespread in New Age and New Thought philosophy. It posits to never dwell on the negative, as the metaphysical principle of life is embodied in a “law of attraction’: “you get what you think about, your thoughts determine your destiny.”
1.) The James Brausch Method
In this post James outlines his method for manifesting anything you want to have in your life.
This is a method that I personally use and I really like it. I especially enjoy that the writing method is done in the present tense; for some reason that really contains some magic for me.
2.) John Reese’s Method
Internet marketer John Reese has a very detailed and comprehensive video of a method he uses, called “How to Reboot Your Brain.”
The ‘method’ you will discover in this video is something that I have created and fine-tuned during the past 10+ years of my life. It took me from a depressed (and nearly suicidal) 23 year old that was in over $108,000 of debt to a self-made multi-millionaire.
My wife went through the entire process and really liked it. It allows you to really get in contact with what is going on in your day to day life. And it is a particularly great way to discover the energy drains in your life and the possible reasons why you may not be achieving your goals.
3.) The Secret
The full length version is available for download [~$5.00] at TheSecret.tv but you can watch the first 20 minutes or so here. That is more than enough to catch the drift of it.
Do you ever consciously use the law of attraction? Has it worked? I’m especially interested in your thoughts about The Secret, since I find some aspects of it fascinating and some a bit frustrating. I’ll post more after you’ve had a chance to have a look and tell me what you think.

Marketers use the thinking behind the law of attraction all the time.
You see people are constantly bombarded with messages. The brain can’t deal with them all so it filters most of the information out. It picks what it will “see.”
If you want to buy a new car, suddenly new cars are everywhere. They were there before. You simply filtered that information out.
Same with positive/negative news.
A marketer’s job is to eliminate the filters so the messages get through.
Thanks Kimber, I never thought of marketing like that before. I’m reading a book right now called “Primal Branding” that I think is talking about techniques for getting through the noise…review coming soon. So how do you do it?
I resist the Secret and most of the other Law of Attraction stuff going around these days. Not so much because I discount it, but because most of it seems to be a repackaging of the old stuff.
I do believe in and make use of the law of attraction, but I think the real secret of it lies in coupling deep feeling with action. I do believe thoughts are things, but without feeling & action I feel I’m leaving too much up to chance.
Now, this is interesting to me…when I am “scattered”, distracted, letting little business stuff that I don’t care for but that need to be done, pile up over time, my phone rings less. When I take care of these things, my phone rings off the hook. um, like now, 4 new clients wanting to schedule appointments while I’m typing this response. Very cool!
My self-observation isn’t scientific, I know, but it does happen often enough to attract my attention.
Jecklin, that’s an excellent observation. My wife calls those the “back burner” tasks. They seem small or even insignificant, but they are really BIG energy blocks; due to some inner resistance. You’re absolutly correct, clear up those tasks and the work will rush in with newness.
Bravo for you!
Einstein(?) said to make things as simple as possible, but no simpler. These LOA folks failed to heed his advice.
But maybe we can’t fault them for their “wishful thinking”?
Here are my thoughts on the issue:
Transcending Subjective Reality
I’m sure you read about the red porsche on James Brausch’s blog. I’m currently using the law of attraction to attract James’ entire life. I figure why sell myself short — might as well aim high ;>)
@Al…go for it, dream big!
“attract James’ entire life.”
…but be careful with those open ended manifestations. I’d prefer to be a bit for picky and just take the Porsche and the big bank account - “entire life” is too scary for me
