The AdSense Code - My Current Read

Honestly, I ordered it before I swore off AdSense and began silently repeating my mantra to myself 50 time a day ["just say no to Crack-Sense"].
Knowing that I’m in recovery I may not be the best person to review this book but here goes anyways.
Did You Learn Anything?
Given that I can look in my AdSense account and see numbers not far from the ones that Joel uses to establish his AdSense expertise, I really didn’t think I’d learn a whole bunch, but surprisingly there were a few good tidbits in there that were “Ah-ha” moments.
The most notable one was that Google serves the most valuable, in terms of cost per click, ads starting from the top of your page. By top of the page, it is based on the source code; so it is possible to have elements that appear at the bottom of your pages to the viewer be the first ones that the Google Media Bot sees when dolling out ads.
The main message of the book ties in with this revelation: the way to make the most money with AdSense is to test everything, and use every metrics tool that you can to determine which techniques are working. Then experiment and re-evaluate. For example once you know which block of ads is getting the highest click through rate, you can re-code your page to make sure that it is receiving the highest paying ads.
The book is a very easy and quick read. Grab a pencil and paper and sit down and in a few hours you’ll have the meat of it read and be implementing the changes on your site.
I think I paid $12 for it and it is worth that much even if you consider yourself an experienced AdSense user. For beginners it will teach you all the basics and get you over many problems that would take much time to discover through trial and error.
So Jon, why did you buy this book?
I fell for the old, if you buy now you’ll get:
$6972 Worth Of The Best Internet Marketing Training Resources On The Face Of The Earth…
Yup, I fell for it. So if you want the book you too can get the goodie bag Nirvana by going to AdSenseCode.com and clicking on Joel’s Amazon link rather than mine above [since Amazon sucks so fiercely I don't mind forgoing my .30 commission so you can get $6972 of bonuses].
The catch of course is that you’ll get squeezed for your email from every 2-bit Internet marketer on the web…so be for-warned…there’s no free lunch, but I have to admit that some of the freebies are definitely worth picking up. Some of the mail lists are worth staying on and some well…luckily they come with an unsubscribe link!

[...] Wait, he must of stolen this game…from my life! Well my past life anyways. And true to real life…each day the earnings go down a little bit. I’m assuming that the purpose of that is to show you that you need to buy Joel’s AdSense book [which I own btw] but in reality it should be a tip off as to the wisdom or lack of wisdom of setting up a business based on AdSense.
