I thought the idea was to buy low and sell high…
One of the big myths of investing is that just because a price has gone up that it is “high”. Take a look at the chart for Starbucks for example. If you applied your theory it would never look like a buy, but yet it continues to rise in price. It is the price relative to the fundementals that is important, not the price on its own that determines whether the investment is overpriced or not.
It is good to buy low when it can get back up. It is good to sell high when it is really high.
However if a stocks price rise, then maybe there is a reason… and that reason might be that the company grow, that it makes more money, etc. If so, the stock will continue to rise!
It is like women (or men for those ladies
), some get better with age, some degrade.
You want a stock that rise!
