OMG - Where Did That Week Go?
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.
An interesting week…seems like blogging slipped a couple notches on my priority list for the past few days.
The list looked something like this:
- Find a place to live (since we’ve been given notice because our landlord wants to sell our place)
- Getting the real estate investing bug while in Phoenix; I’ve spend the better part of a week chasing down a deal on a $2.75m fixer upper hotel (think condos)…looks like I may let this one go, unless I can find someone who can write a check for ~$500k. Is that person you; more details if yes?
- Building a blog network…a well documented saga
- Blogging on Art of Money
Unfortunately I ran out of day just about where 3 ended and 4 began each day.
My apologies for that.
Today I sold $480 dollars of link ads, so I feel kinda like I better get my butt back in the saddle and start making those advertisers some money
Some Speedlinkage:
My buddy Tyler wants you to help him win a contest for a satellite radio; what’s cool is that by helping him win it…you can win it. He’s going to give the prize to someone who helps him win the prize.
A special thanks to Brian at Baby Biotechs for his awesome article about the WordPress 5 minute install. That post has brought in some very decent links *applause* …even though it is a bit humbling that the guest bloggers all did better than me.
Art of Money didn’t get a headline remixed by CopyBlogger. (a clue…5th one down in the second group).
A good article about flipping websites on SitePoint. Very thorough and something I’ve really wanted to try. My pal Jscott tells me that a bank actually lent him money to speculate in domain names, so I’m sure that financing website purchases with “virtual” mortgages isn’t far away.
Adobe is planning a free online version of Photoshop, but while we wait (until late 2007) you can check out fauto, an uber-cool web 2.0 free, online photo editor with layers and mucho other swank goodness.

I don’t feel so guilty about stealing his bylines know that Ze has killed The Show.

Jon,
Good to see you have the real estate bug…I got it about a year ago and purchased a duplex. Go for it!
Thanks for the link-up, I’m sure your readers will help me out.
I didn’t know about Fauto either, thanks for the pointer.
Later,
Tyler
I got 15 click-throughs from the guest post, so I benefited a little from my promotion of the post. Then again, I got 15 clicks by leaving a comment at blog that’s in my general topic, so I’m not sure it was the best use of my time. But I did have fun writing it.
OT, but related to your website naming series. I installed adsense and the first set of ads that popped up were for baby products!!!! Fortunately, Google must have crawled my site quickly, because the next time I loaded it, the ads seemed to be on topic.
Yo Jon— Good to have you back.
Brian— Gah, crack-sense!

@Brian. The first set of ads that show up are ALWAYS purely based on the domain name, so I’ve seen interesting stuff like that before.
As for your guest post, you’ll definitely get more SEO advantage (and long term benefit) from a link in an article than a comment. But both are good strategies, but usually there is little long term juice in a comment.
2 days ago a Payday loan company paid me $100 and they wrote the article to post it on another site of mine…so you got off pretty cheap
Did I mention it was a bank controlled by the underlords of China?
Kidding. Kind of.
Glad you are back.
“Did I mention it was a bank controlled by the underlords of China?”
LOL, let me know when your tell-all autobiography comes out, so I can pre-order
The tell all would not be pretty. It is not a rise to the top of the food chain nor king of the mountain type of thing.
More of a back and forth movement. Call it a Baroque Opera.
If I get this bank down to a system I will deff give you a heads up. As it is now it was a long hard sales job. Though, it was worth it.
Jon,
Ya keeping da powder dry?
