Life’s Funny Sometimes

open directory logoIt’s about a month ago now that I decided to abandon my old site Smart Money Daily and move on to a Wordpress powered blog…mostly to spend less time writing code and more time writing stories.

Today I checked my stats for the old site and I discovered that I had referral traffic from DMOZ!

I’m listed in the Personal Finance: Money Management: Weblogs category along with a lot of my friends from the Carnival of Personal Finance. Wouldn’t surprise me if one of the Carnival participants was editing that category.

For anyone in the business of search engine optimization a DMOZ listing is some kind of major attainment since Google and other major search engines consider a DMOZ listing as a reliable vote for a site’s credibility.

The Open Directory Project is the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web. It is constructed and maintained by a vast, global community of volunteer editors.

Oh well, maybe in a year or so…I can get Art of Money in there!
