Stop Using WWW, It is Useless
No-www.org strives to make the Internet and communications about it as fruitful as possible. To that end, we make the modest proposal that website makers configure their main sites to be accessible by domain.com as well as www.domain.com.
There is a WordPress plugin that will handle the ‘disappearing ‘of your www for you. Grab it at Photo Matt.
Site X
Did you know that if you type x.com you will go to PayPal?
The domain name X.com was associated with PayPal in early 2000 when it acquired Confinity, PayPal’s then parent company. [1] After the acquisition, the leaders of X.com ran PayPal
before being ousted by both companies’ investors.
q.com is owned by Quest and z.com is owned by Nissan, besides that the other 23 one letter domains do not resolve to a live site [yes I checked!]. That doesn’t mean someone doesn’t own them however. I happen to own my initials in js.ca but so far I haven’t had an offer for it that has gotten me too excited. I don’t really think that ultra-short domain names have any particular value, as the common wisdom favors having keywords in the domain.
There’s No Good Domain Names Left
True. Even .infos are surprisingly booked when it comes to any decent keywords [could it be the spam-tastic price?].
Unless you ask James Martell.
James is consistently in the top 5 on Google for “Work At Home”* with his site: work-at-home-net-guides.com. His guide teaches that having the keywords in the domain is vital, having dashes is better than without dashes and adding words to make sure that you get the keywords in the domain is perfectly acceptable.
The evidence would seem to support his theories.
* “Work At Home” has 3.9 billion results, 300k searches a month and the cost per click is about $2.50…it wouldn’t surprise me if AdSense revenue for a top 5 listing for that term would be in the 5 figures A DAY range. And don’t forget James sells $160 dollar “work at home” ebooks.

Well, still x.com is a cool domain name. I would be glad to own it!
