DocuPen RC800 Color Handheld Scanner
Jun 20

I filed this gadget under toys and doodads, but it really is a lot more than that…especially if you’re in the industrial espionage business
DocuPen RC800 Color Handheld Scanner
In the olden days spys had to take photos with their miniature digital cameras but with this amazing tool you can skip the images and go straight to text with your scans.
The RC800 is capable of storing 100′s of pages into memory and it takes just seconds to scan a page. Choose the mode you want to scan: black and white, standard color or high 24bit color and the resolution from 100 to 400 dpi. Now you can scan your letters, color documents, pictures and bring them into Paperport software (included with the Docupen). The DocuPen is different from other pen sized scanners in that it scans a FULL PAGE width and therefore scans the entire page including text and graphics in as little
as 4 seconds.
Imagine the next time you’re scanning a magazine at the bookstore and you want one article, but are too cheap to spring for it, just whip out the DocuPen RC800 and quickly drag it over the page and you’re on your way home with the info. YIKES for information theft! Coming soon to a court room near you…would that be shoplifting…you took an image of the magazine but you didn’t physically remove it from the store?
Even if you put the evil possibilities aside it’s a wicked cool device, I’ll be putting one on my Xmas list. You can pick up the
on Amazon for about $300.
