Best Camtasia Screencast E-v-e-r

Camtasia
A Great Camtasia Video

I was doing a bit of research for a new project [a follow-up to my setup a WordPress blog videos] and I came across this most excellent Camtasia screencast video.

The video is about how to embed flash videos into your WordPress blog posts,

WordPress Kimili Plugin

But what makes it so good is:

  1. The level of professionalism of the production visuals and audio
  2. The special effect screen tilt that is used to present the information in on screen

The screen tilt is based on applying perspective and I just had to track down how it was done. On this link the author of the video explains how the effect is created.

Applying Perspective in Camtasia Videos

It isn’t that tough to do and the benefit, besides the cool look, is that you can present more visual information in a smaller space. It does require a video editing software as Camtasia itself does not have the ability to create perspective.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

I have tried to use this method, but it does not work. Even got Kimili to help out but still no luck. Have you ever tried this? If you have and are successful, I would love to hear how you did it.

Hi Nick,

To be honest I haven’t had a chance to give it a try yet. Did you try and contact the guy who made the video: http://www.brooksandrus.com/ I think he works for Camtasia so he may be willing to help out. Or go on the Camtasia forums and ask for help.

Tough to get Brooks. Posted in camtasia forum, but could not get anything. Emailed camtasia support many times. But they finally said they cannot answer that question. Even their newslette recommended Kimili!

There is another post at

http://www.stepbystepblog.com/howto/?p=10

with another method – but even I am having trouble with this!

Maybe I;ll bug camtasia tech support again and show them brooks site!

That’s funny Nick. The step by step site is MY SITE! Send me the link to the page you’re having trouble with using that method and I’m sure I can figure it out. Also what trouble are you having, I assumed you meant with the 3-d effect, but if that isn’t the problem…then what exactly?

The Kimili 1.1 plugin changed its syntax slightly, but is fairly similar to what’s described in the screencast. I posted a reply based on the same sorts of questions in the TechSmith Camtasia Studio forums:

Hopefully that helps someone out. :)
